Long ago, when October 31 marked the end of the year, it was said that the boundary between this world and the next would disappear.

Ghosts and people would come together, feast on the freshly gathered harvest, celebrate, and welcome the new year.

Celebrating the harvest is something shared across cultures.

We wanted to enjoy the autumn harvest in a simple, easygoing way.

Takanohasusuki grass, dried over the summer,
    and bright red Takanotsume peppers.

A small bouquet swag with a hidden connection between the two —
both carry taka, the Japanese word for “hawk,” in their names.

A little celebration of the autumn harvest.
